Developed and introduced by Different Tastes Catering of Boston sixteen years ago, the Edible Asian Spoon began as a local trend but, over the years, it has become a mainstay for many caterers, country clubs, hotels and restaurants throughout North America and, now, internationally! It has changed the face of the industry. It was created out of a need to make it easier on our clients. In the past, caterers would offer a porcelain or plastic Asian spoon with hors d'oeuvres atop it for their guest's enjoyment. The Edible Asian Spoon's creator, Jack Milan, always saw this as an inconvenience for the guest. In one hand, the guest held their beverage glass; In another, the Asian spoon. Guests had to wait for a server to come around in order to dispose of the spoon. It is because of these circumstances that the Edible Asian Spoon was born.

 

Currently the Edible Asian Spoons are now available in Standard (5.0” long, 2.0”x1.5” bowl) and Miniature (3.5” long, 1.5”x1.0” bowl) sizes and in the following fifteen delicious flavors: Cilantro Cumin Lime, Cinnamon Cardamom Five-Spice, Chocolate, Coconut Curry, Corn Lime, Cranberry, Gingerbread, Italian Herbs, Lemon Dill Corn, Parmesan Basil, Parmesan Black Pepper, Plain, Poppy Seed, Sea Salt & Wasabi Sesame. Shelf life is six months in a cool, dry place (Do NOT refrigerate) or the spoons may be frozen. The Edible Asian Spoon is also available in a limited Gluten-Free line (not available in miniature spoons).

The Petal Tartlets are a one-bite pastry vehicle, available in the same delicious flavors as the Edible Asian Spoons, with the same shelf stable attributes.
